How do I know if a screening is for me?The physical health screening is a form of preventative care that anyone can benefit from. An annual screening allows you to interact with a skilled Doctor of Physical Therapy who has been trained beside other advanced health care practitioners (such as Medical Doctors, Registered Nurses and Doctors of Pharmacy) in the evaluation of anatomy, physiology and pharmacology. The Doctor of Physical Therapy is able to determine whether any physical functional deficits are present and require further attention/ referrals. Our Doctor of Physical Therapy may also provide recommendations on prevention of disease/ dysfunction based on data gathered and prognostic indicators identified during the screening process. Followup visits with your Doctor of Physical Therapy allows you to track your progress when indicated, & certain baseline information empowers you to communicate your health progress with your primary healthcare provider in between visits with him or her.

What is integrative care?Integrative care is a holistic approach to healthcare that combines conventional treatments with complementary and alternative therapies to address a patient's physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. It emphasizes patient-centered care, focusing on treating the whole person rather than just the disease or symptoms. Evidence-based, person-centered complementary approaches are employed and may include physical therapy, acupuncture, massage, meditation, nutrition counseling, medical/ surgical services among others. It addresses the root causes of illness and considers factors like stress, diet, sleep, and emotional health. It also focuses on lifestyle modifications, education, and wellness strategies to prevent disease and improve overall health. In integrative care, communication and cooperation between healthcare providers from different disciplines is fundamental to ensuring comprehensive treatment.
